When you have annual licences with several suppliers, it is easy to forget when they are due for renewal, without being reminded. For renewals such as your anti-virus, forgetting your renewal date can leave your business unprotected. Much of your software will be purchased monthly, or annually, such as; your SSL Certificate, Cisco SmartNet, Cisco SmartCare, VMWare Support, HP Carepack cover and Microsoft Volume Licensing, to name a few.
You need to keep track of all your renewals, or have an IT support and management company do so on your behalf, as they will have confirmation from their suppliers of all your renewal dates and contract periods, so you won’t have to worry about being unprotected, or paying extra for delays.
As well as renewals for software licences, you should also be monitoring the warranty periods for all your IT hardware, as it makes it easier for you to decide what to do when something goes wrong. You should also keep track of how old your PC’s are and when it could be time to think about upgrading them.
